Wiemann Ironworks has the facilities, equipment, tools, and experienced personnel to carry out architectural metalwork fabrication of any size and complexity.  Our fabricators can work with designs created in our own studio or provided by the customer.  The design staff works closely with the production department on material choice and fabrication details on each project.

FACILITIES
Our 20,000 square foot design and production facility includes a well equipped machine shop, modern forges, air hammers, plate rollers, power shears, press brakes, and a variety of welding, grinding, and polishing equipment.  Our finishing department includes a grit blast room and a paint room.  Customers are welcome to take a tour of our facility and see work in progress.

PERSONNEL
Each project is assigned to a lead fabricator who is responsible for every step of the production process up to finishing.  The fabricator, working alone on smaller projects or with the help of other fabricators and apprentices on larger jobs, gathers materials, cuts, forges, textures, shapes, assembles, grinds, and polishes the piece or pieces of the project.  A variety of modern machines and old world tooling is utilized including special scroll forms, texturing hammers, and dies.

MATERIALS
Our lead fabricators are experienced and knowledgeable in the use of all available tools and equipment to achieve the designer's objectives.  Wiemann specialists are comfortable working with carbon steel and a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys including cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper.

FINISHING
Wiemann Ironworks' finishing department receives each project from fabrication and uses a variety of techniques to achieve a finish that is both durable and aesthetically pleasing.  Most steel and iron pieces are grit blasted prior to application of finish coats.  For outdoor installation we use the latest high-solids catalyzed urethane prime and finish coats for maximum UV resistance and longevity.  Patination, gold leaf (gilding) and antique washes are hand applied on many custom projects.

INSTALLATION
We normally deliver the finished product to its final destination using our specially equipped installation trucks.  Our skilled personnel, under the direction of the lead fabricator, perform the installation to ensure customer satisfaction.
